FEES

The lawyer may agree with their client on a fee based on the services provided, to which may be added an additional fee linked to the result obtained or the service rendered. However, fees cannot be set solely on the basis of the outcome of the case. To determine the amount of the fees, the lawyer takes into account several factors: the time spent on the case, the complexity of the research to be carried out, the importance of the issues at stake, the costs and expenses related to his or her practice, as well as his or her reputation, experience, qualifications, and specialization. The lawyer also considers the results obtained for the client, the usefulness of the service provided, and the client's financial situation.

From the outset of the assignment, the lawyer informs the client of the method used to calculate fees and keeps the client regularly updated on any changes. The lawyer also informs the client of all costs, disbursements, and fees that are likely to be incurred.
